Job Mobility Analysis of People with Disabilities in Mandatory Employment Enterprises

This study analyzes the job status and employment mobility of disabled workers employed in mandatory employment enterprises from a dynamic perspective. For this purpose, a transition matrix analysis was conducted using the Employment mandatory Enterprise Database provided by the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled. As a result, persons with disabilities employed in stable occupations and institutions—such as office jobs and large enterprises—were more likely to retain their jobs. In contrast, those in less stable positions showed limited upward mobility and experienced greater employment instability. Furthermore, opportunities for skill development and career planning after job entry were found to be insufficient. These research findings indicate that support for skill development and career advancement is essential to ensure job retention and upward mobility for persons with disabilities. They also highlight the need to strengthen the role of the public sector and enhance employment stability in small and medium-sized enterprises in the private sector.
