Analysis of Electromagnetic Force Waves of Interior PMSM With High Frequency Signal Injection Sensorless Control

The high frequency voltage signal injection method is the main method to achieve sensorless control of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) at zero-low speed. However, the additional signal injection will generate new current harmonics, which will introduce new electromagnetic force wave components, intensifying the electromagnetic vibration and noise of the motor and limiting the wide application of this control strategy. This paper first conducts theoretical derivation on the newly generated current harmonics under the pulsating high frequency signal injection method, and further obtains the newly generated electromagnetic force wave components. In addition, the spatiotemporal distribution of the air-gap flux density and electromagnetic force waves were obtained through co-simulation, verifying the correctness of the theoretical derivation. This paper provides a certain reference for suppressing the vibration and noise of pulsating high frequency signal injection sensorless control.
