SMART MONEY AS AN INSTRUMENT OF SUSTAINABLE SME GROWTH IN UZBEKISTAN
Smart money—the integration of financial capital with non-financial support—is increasingly seen as vital for SME development. This paper explores how smart money fosters sustainable SME growth in Uzbekistan, where SMEs account for over half of GDP and most employment [1]. We review literature and present evidence on integrated finance and advisory services, highlighting government initiatives, EBRD credit lines with consultancy, and IT Park incubation. Case studies show that coupling finance with mentorship and technical advice boosts growth, innovation, and resilience [2–4]. We conclude with policy recommendations to embed smart money into Uzbekistan’s SME strategy for long-term sustainable development [5–8].
