Weighting Factorless Predictive Position Control for PMSM with an Interlaced Evaluation Method

The model predictive control (MPC) method has been widely applied in position servo control for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). However, the weighting factor tuning work of cost function in MPC method usually relies on arduous trial-and-error and simulation work. In this paper, an interlaced series evaluation method is proposed to evaluate the cost function and eliminate weighting factors. Compared with the traditional series evaluation method, the proposed strategy does not require specifying the evaluation sequence, and a criterion is designed for comparison of different control objectives, which simplifies the optimization process of the cost function. The proposed method is verified with simulation and compared with tradition MPC method.
