From Raspberry Elixir To Cyanide Capsules: A Forensic and Legal Case Study of Subject X
This article examines developmental, psychological, criminological, and legal factors surrounding the 1982 Chicago Tylenol murders, advancing a unified forensic formulation of Subject X. The analysis argues that a near‑fatal childhood ingestion of a raspberry‑flavored sulfanilamide elixir seeded a grievance that, when cued by the mass‑marketing of flavored pediatric acetaminophen, was transformed by a psychopathic core into calculated consumer‑product tampering. Legal and regulatory implications are discussed. This paper develops a comprehensive, stand‑alone forensic psychological and legal analysis of Subject X as the perpetrator.
