Modeling of pollutant spread under the influence of relief factors on a synoptic scale based on the advection-diffusion equation
This paper addresses the modeling of pollutant dispersion in the atmosphere. The study utilizes the advection-diffusion equation, which incorporates wind transport (advection) and turbulent dispersion (diffusion). To account for the effect of terrain on airflows and dispersion processes, the model employs specific coefficients and additional wind components. Numerical methods, including Upwind and Downwind schemes, are used to predict pollutant spread in regions with complex terrain, such as the mountainous areas of Uzbekistan. The model integrates various factors, including terrain relief, pressure gradients, wind speed, and wind direction. For high-precision numerical calculations, finite difference solution algorithms have been developed. This approach is crucial for environmental monitoring and managing industrial emissions.
