Optimal Design of Multisine Excitations with Non-Overlapping Intermodulation Using Minimal-Length $B_{h}$ Sets
A novel framework for the design of optimal multisine excitations with non-overlapping intermodulation is proposed. The approach is based on the theory of integer <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$B_{h}$</tex> sets and targets a low time-bandwidth product for minimizing waveform generation/acquisition time, showing to yield waveform optimization methods that favorably compare with heuristic techniques previously adopted in microwave component testing. Different waveform design strategies are numerically analyzed and experimentally validated through modulated measurements of a commercial amplifier testboard at 2.14 GHz.
