Modeling of Structural Steel Hysteresis for Skin Systems at Industrial and Medium Frequencies

The article presents the results of solving the problem of calculating magnetic losses in a ferromagnetic tube of an inductive resistive heating system at industrial and medium frequencies in the environment of finite element analysis. As the studied materials of the inductive resistive heater, structural ferromagnetic steels are used: steel 10, steel 15, steel 20, which are analogs of American steels Low Carbon Steel 1010, Low Carbon Steel 1018, Low Carbon Steel 1020, respectively. The study is conducted using the hysteresis model of Jiles Atherton. The main formulas for calculating parameters for constructing the Jiles Atherton model are provided. The limits of the parameters of the hysteresis model used are based on experimental data. The distribution of the electromagnetic field in the wall of the inductive resistive heater is considered. Differential parameters for calculating the inductive resistive heating system, taking into account hysteresis, are obtained, and a methodology for determining integral parameters is developed. A comparison of electrical and energy characteristics of inductive resistive heaters made of low-carbon steel with different carbon content, obtained by calculation and experimentally, is carried out. The influence of frequency on electrical and energy characteristics, including hysteresis losses and losses from eddy currents in the inductive resistive heater, is investigated.
