Design of Peano Curve-Inspired Frequency Selective Surface for C-Band Applications
This paper proposes a novel Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) configuration that achieves high selectivity and low insertion loss at <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$C$</tex> band frequencies, optimising performance in <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$C$</tex> band operations. A peano fractal curveinspired FSS structure is embodied on a FR-4 substrate. The proposed design is analysed for transmission coefficient and reflection coefficients and shows good bandwidth, resonance frequency stability, and angular stability at <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$3.9 \text{GHz}-4.0 \text{GHz}$</tex>. It is suitable for applications requiring precise frequency control, such as satellite communications and electromagnetic isolation at <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{4 G H z}$</tex>.
