PLATA Martian Facility for Sand and Dust Mobilization Experiments (EMM Project)
The PLATA martian simulation facility is a novel infrastructure under development at the INAF-OACN. It will consist of a vacuum chamber equipped with several subsystems to reproduce martian wind regime, saltation, dust lifting and atmospheric electricity. The final product represents an unique blend of features that will allow the study of dust electrification and lifting as never before. We here present the project in its current stage, close to its final definition for the installation and commissioning stage, expected in the middle of this year (2025).
