Adaptive Interference Canceller in Sodar on Antenna Array
The paper considers the development and analysis of an adaptive interference compensator for a sodar (acoustic locator) using an antenna array. The proposed compensator is designed to suppress interference arising in a complex noise environment and, as a resulting increase in the signal-to-noise ratio, which improves the accuracy of detection of useful signals. The principles of operation of the adaptive filter based on the Least Mean Square algorithm are described. The results of mathematical modelling confirming the effectiveness of the proposed approach are given. Improvements in the quality of SODAR operation on the antenna array have been achieved without increasing the weight and size characteristics, but only due to algorithmic computations, which in turn is a significant advantage for the whole system. The results of the work can be used to improve the characteristics of acoustic sensing systems, to expand the places of operation of these systems, to improve the quality of the obtained data.
