Effect of the Psychological Immunization Training Package on Resilience and Psychological Distress of Mothers of Intellectual Disable Children

The present study aimed to determine the impact of the psychological immunization training package on resilience and psychological distress of mothers of intellectual disable children. This research was a semi-experimental study with a pre-test, post-test and control group design. The statistical population of the research consisted of mothers of intellectual disable children in the first period of elementary school. Convenient sampling method was used to select the participants. The sample of this research was 32 people who were randomly replaced in two experimental and control groups of 16 people. Connor-Davidson resiliency scale and depression, anxiety, and stress scale of Lobivand and Lobivand were used for assessment of all participants. The experimental group participated in the psychological immunization training program in 10 sessions of 60-minutes with two sessions weekly. Then both groups were evaluated with the same tools. Data were analyzed by univariate and multivariate analysis of covariance. Results showed that the psychological immunization package had a positive and significant effect on resilience and psychological distress in the experimental group. Therefore, planning for this intervention has a significant role in improving the resilience and psychological distress of mothers.
