Three-Vector Weighting-Free Model Predictive Torque Control for SPMSMs
Poor steady-state performance is observed in conventional dual-vector model predictive torque control (DV-MPTC) for Surface-Mounted permanent magnet synchronous motors (SPMSM), attributed to the weighted cost function for voltage vector (VV) selection. In this study, a three-vector MPTC (TV-MPTC) is proposed to improve the steady-state performance through three optimization steps: firstly, generating reference VVs and locating their sectors based on the dead-beat control; selecting the three optimal VVs based on the sector division; and then a cost function is used to calculate the duty cycle of each vector. Simulation results demonstrate reduced current and torque ripples alongside enhanced steady-state motor performance with the proposed strategy.
