Research on the dynamic characteristics and serviceability of novel PSRC floor

• Research on the modal parameters of PSRCF. • Vibration response of PSRCF under pedestrian load excitation. • The influence of H-shaped steel and prestress on the vibration performance of floor. • The fundamental frequency calculation model of PSRCF. To investigate the vibration characteristics of prestressed steel reinforced concrete floor (PSRCF) and analyze the influence of steel and prestress on its vibration performance, this study conducted dynamic tests, theoretical calculations, and finite element simulations on one reinforced concrete floor (RCF) specimen, one steel reinforced concrete floor (SRCF) specimen, and one PSRCF specimen. The results indicate that the lowest four mode shapes of the three specimens are generally consistent. Steel and prestress can appropriately increase the fundamental frequency and significantly improve the damping ratio of the floors. Steel and prestress can significantly reduce the vibration acceleration, with steel having a more pronounced effect. Under crowd load, the peak acceleration reduction due to steel can reach 29 %, effectively improving the serviceability performance of the floors. The fundamental frequencies of the three specimens were calculated using theoretical methods, and the lowest four mode shapes and frequencies of the three specimens were analyzed using finite element method (FEM). The experimental, calculated, and simulated values are in good agreement.
