Performance investigation of 1.1KW, 72 Volts IPMSM drives at various inverter switching frequencies and hysterisis current control techniques using fuzzy logic controller

The fuzzy logic controller (FLC) method suggested in this study can regulate the torque and speed of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) drives. We examined various techniques for regulating electric drive speed. When a system parameter, load torque, or command speed changes, it can be challenging to adjust the gains of a PI controller. We compared how fuzzy logic controllers are better suited for non-linear processes. Speed Error, Change in Speed Error, and Actual Speed are the inputs that the FLC receives. The FLC produces d-axis current (i<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">d</inf>) and q-axis current (i<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">q</inf>) as its output. In order for the controller to function, we established a set of rules depending on the variable values. The suggested FLC can simultaneously regulate the torque and flux to achieve the required speed. To obtain extra torque, which we usually refer to as the reluctance torque, we exploited the saliency, a special characteristic of IPMSMs. Utilizing our controller, we were able to determine the Maximum Torque per Ampere operating point. The Field Weakening (FW) Method for operating above base speed and the MTPA method for operating up to base speed are the foundations of its design. The inverter system’s pulses are produced using the hysteresis current control approach. Software called MATLAB-Simulink simulates the entire driving system. By applying fuzzy rules to allow the results to fall within a narrow error band in the output speed, the controller’s resilience can be realized.
