Low-Order Current Harmonic Control Strategy For Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors Over Full Speed Range

Permanent magnet synchronous motors exhibit significant advantages in electric vehicle (EV) control systems, including a wide speed regulation range, high efficiency, and high power density. However, when improving the vehicle’s noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) performance, the nonlinear characteristics of the inverter and modulation strategies impose higher demands on current harmonic suppression techniques. To address this challenge, this paper proposes a voltage compensation strategy based on conventional harmonic injection methods, along with a low-frequency harmonic control approach suitable for high-speed operation. Compared with traditional harmonic injection methods, the proposed strategy demonstrates superior adaptability to complex operating conditions across the full speed range of PMSMs, achieving more effective harmonic current suppression. This provides a novel solution for enhancing the NVH performance of PMSMs in EVs.
