EFFICIENCY OF MIMO SYSTEM USING VON MISES-FISHER SCATTERER DISTRIBUTION

The paper considers the performance of the MIMO system when the scatterers are arranged on the surface of a sphere according to the Von Mises-Fisher distribution. The model of the communication channel is represented in three-dimensional space. The Von Mises-Fisher probability distribution density function is given and the ergodic capacity is analyzed as a function of the Rice coefficient and the signal-to-noise ratio at different concentrations of the scatterer distribution around the mean direction.

Abstract

The paper considers the performance of the MIMO system when the scatterers are arranged on the surface of a sphere according to the Von Mises-Fisher distribution. The model of the communication channel is represented in three-dimensional space. The Von Mises-Fisher probability distribution density function is given and the ergodic capacity is analyzed as a function of the Rice coefficient and the signal-to-noise ratio at different concentrations of the scatterer distribution around the mean direction.
