Strategic Reconstruction and Evolution Path of 2G Core Network Withdrawal

With the popularization and maturity of 4G/5G networks, users' voice services have migrated from CS (Circuit Switched) to VoLTE (Voice over LTE)/VoNR (Voice over New Radio), and the core network has evolved from the traditional CS network to the IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) network. Due to the long-tail effect of the withdrawal of traditional 2G/3G users, the CS core network serving 2G/3G users will not disappear rapidly. This paper mainly explores the withdrawal scheme of the CS core network to ensure the orderly withdrawal of CS users, so as to achieve the goals of simplifying network operation and maintenance and energy conservation and emission reduction.
