The Impact of Digital Skills on the Employability of Young Moroccans

This study explores how digital skills influence the way students and young professionals build their careers in an online world. It focuses on how individuals shape their professional identity, adapt to changing job markets, and take action to grow their careers using digital tools. Based on a survey of over two hundred participants, the research finds that not all digital skills contribute equally to career development. Skills such as online communication and the ability to find and use digital information are strongly linked to career confidence, flexibility, and motivation. In contrast, basic technical know-how and creative digital production showed little impact. These findings suggest that being able to connect, share, and evaluate information online matters more for career growth than simply knowing how to use technology. As a result, education and career programs should prioritize developing learners’ abilities to communicate and think critically in digital spaces. In a fast-changing, digital job market, helping people build these social and cognitive digital skills may be key to improving their adaptability, employability, and long-term success. Keywords: Digital; Skills; Employability; Training; Professional Career.
