Event-triggered Interval Estimation of Actuator Fault for Nonlinear Systems by Ellipsoid Method

In this paper, a novel approach is proposed for the estimation of actuator faults and states in intervals for Lipschitz nonlinear systems, which combines observer design with elliptic analysis. First, an event-triggered T-N-L type fault observer is designed to estimate the states of the system and actuator faults. To improve the accuracy of the estimation, the robustness of the proposed observer is characterized by the peak performance. In addition, a new interval estimation method based on elliptic analysis is proposed. An example is presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract

In this paper, a novel approach is proposed for the estimation of actuator faults and states in intervals for Lipschitz nonlinear systems, which combines observer design with elliptic analysis. First, an event-triggered T-N-L type fault observer is designed to estimate the states of the system and actuator faults. To improve the accuracy of the estimation, the robustness of the proposed observer is characterized by the peak performance. In addition, a new interval estimation method based on elliptic analysis is proposed. An example is presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
