Introducing Semiconductor Chip design at high school level - From Idea to prototype
This paper aims to promote chip design education at the high school level to address semiconductor skill shortages. Chip design concepts are generally taught at a college level and are rarely introduced to high school students. Complex infrastructure and specialized tools are needed for chip design, validation, manufacturing and testing the chips. One of the main obstacles to learning chip design is the limited access to the learning platforms and tools. This paper discusses easily accessible tools, affordable resources and steps to follow for anyone who is interested in learning chip design fundamentals.
