A Single-Layer Dual-Polarized High-Gain Microstrip Patch Antenna
A single-layer dual-polarized and high-gain microstrip patch antenna in this paper. The design features four interconnected patches arranged around a central cross-shaped structure. To improve port isolation level, circular ring slots are introduced at the center of each patch. Simulation results show that the antenna achieves an impedance bandwidth of 2.7% within 4.75-4.88 GHz and a peak gain of 12.67 dBi at 4.87 GHz. Additionally, the port isolation level exceeds 32 dB, ensuring minimal interference between polarization channels. The antenna's overall dimensions are 1.38×1.38×0.023 λ03where λ0 represents the free-space wavelength at the lowest operating frequency, exhibiting an excellent compact-size characteristic.
