Multi-Channel Analog-to-Digital Integrated Circuit for Physical Experiments

This paper presents the development and investigation of a multi-channel integrated circuit for reading signals from silicon microstrip detectors. The circuit is designed using complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor technology with a 180 nm process and is intended for the silicon tracking system of the Baryonic Matter at Nuclotron experiment at the Nuclotron-based Ion Collider Facility. It includes an analog front-end with a charge-sensitive amplifier and a shaping circuit, a 10-bit analog-to-digital converter operating at 20 MS/s, and digital signal processing blocks. The study focuses on the performance of signal processing stages, conversion accuracy, and data integrity. A scenario-based testing methodology was used to analyze the functionality of individual components and the circuit as a whole. Experimental results confirm that the developed circuit meets the required specifications for precision and power efficiency. The proposed architecture can be adapted for high-energy physics experiments requiring compact integration and low power consumption while maintaining scalability for a larger number of channels.
