Joint Global Navigation Satellite System Signal Optimal Processing of the Different Frequency Bands

This paper is dedicated to the technic of the joint Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signal optimal processing for Global Navigation Satellite System signals focusing on the main acquisition task - signals searching task of the different frequency ranges. A Global Navigation Satellite System L1, L2 bands signal optimal searching algorithm analysis was performed. The algorithm employs cross-correlation analysis of coherent signals from adjacent frequencies. A structural diagram of the optimal search algorithm is presented. Digital numerical modeling of the algorithm was made. The Global Navigation Satellite System signal generator model of the L1 and L2 frequency bands, and the digital receiver model based on the Direct RF sampling (DRFS) concept with high-frequency digital processing of joint navigation signals in baseband are used. The mathematical modeling result shows an improvement in the overall signal-to-noise ratio by 1.3 dB during joint Global Navigation Satellite System signals processing of the different frequency ranges. Some ideas are proposed for further empirical verification of the joint Global Navigation Satellite System signals processing theory.
