EMI from Rear-View Mirror LCDs: Impact on GNSS Sensitivity
This study examines electromagnetic interference (EMI) from the PCB of rear-view mirror LCDs and its effect on GNSS receivers, particularly within the L1 band. Measurements indicate emissions at <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$11.6 \text{dB} \boldsymbol{\mu} \mathrm{V}$</tex> near 1549 MHz, leading to a 14 % reduction in GNSS positioning accuracy. This significant impact on navigation and safety systems underscores the need for effective EMI mitigation strategies. Potential solutions include improved PCB design and shielding techniques to protect GNSS functionality in automotive applications. Addressing these challenges is crucial for maintaining the reliability and accuracy of vehicle navigation systems in increasingly complex electromagnetic environments.
