Optical vortices polarization recognition by diffractive axicons and arrays of cylinders with different periods

The features of using diffraction axicons with different numerical apertures and arrays of subwave cylinders for recognizing the polarization of optical vortices were considered in this paper using the finite difference time domain method. First-order optical vortices with circular, radial, azimuthal polarizations were considered at different periods of the elements relief. The possibility of recognizing the polarization type by both diffraction axicons with a low numerical aperture and arrays of subwave cylinders was shown.

Abstract

The features of using diffraction axicons with different numerical apertures and arrays of subwave cylinders for recognizing the polarization of optical vortices were considered in this paper using the finite difference time domain method. First-order optical vortices with circular, radial, azimuthal polarizations were considered at different periods of the elements relief. The possibility of recognizing the polarization type by both diffraction axicons with a low numerical aperture and arrays of subwave cylinders was shown.
