LMI-Based Fault Detection and Diagnosis for Discrete-Time LPV Microgrids with Bounded Parameter Variation
Microgrids are essential components of modern power systems. In practical operation, they are prone to be affected by actuator and sensor failures due to noise and unknown inputs. The focus of this article is to apply the Linear Parameter-Varying (LPV) system to microgrid systems to provide a Fault Detection and Diagnosis (FDD) strategy for microgrid systems. This strategy combines two types of observers, namely, a reduced-order observer and a full-order observer, to detect, isolate, and estimate faults in microgrid actuators and sensors. The stability and convergence of the observers are ensured through Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) constraints. The performance and effectiveness of the proposed method are demonstrated through MATLAB simulation results.
