Power Flows Control in a Multi-Source Power Distribution Electrical Network
The development of distributed generation based on renewable energy sources is characterized by bidirectional flows of electricity in a medium voltage distribution network. In the case of a closed electrical network with multi-power sources, there is a problem of power flows control, requiring the development and implementation of special semiconductor control devices. An intelligent semiconductor regulator has been developed. Its operation principle is based on a change of phase shift between the input and output voltage vectors. Previously, the results of simulation computer modelling of the power flows transverse regulation modes in an electrical network using intelligent thyristor voltage regulator were obtained. The article is devoted to the verification of the results of computer modelling on a network section physical model with two power sources, load nodes and an intelligent thyristor voltage regulator. Studies have been conducted on the active and reactive power flows control possibility using intelligent thyristor voltage regulator. The dependences of changes in active, reactive power and voltage at the input and output of the intelligent thyristor voltage regulator are obtained when adjusting the phase shift of the fundamental harmonic of the intelligent thyristor voltage regulator output voltage relative to the input voltage. A comparison of the computer and physical modeling results showed their identity. This allows to conclude that it is possible to use a computer model in the development of algorithms for controlling power flows.
