Re-imagining Automotive Software Development: RoHo-ASI Framework for SDV
The RoHo-ASI Framework reimagines automotive software development for Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) by proposing a tailored agile methodology that bridges hardware-software codependencies and safety-critical requirements. Unlike traditional agile adaptations, it introduces an HO-Agile and an ASI model, aligning rapid iteration with ISO 26262 standards. The framework emphasizes role-oriented collaboration, integrating specialized expertise with continuous feedback loops, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and dynamic sprint cycles to address temporal mismatches and ensure safety compliance. A layered architecture separates safety critical and support functions, embedding traceability and modular safety cases into automated CI/CD pipelines. Validated through industrial case studies, RoHo-ASI outperforms traditional agile frameworks, achieving earlier issue identification and higher resolution rates, as evidenced by metrics like MPIGGR and IRR. Figures illustrate reduced issue escalation in later development stages, improving predictability and reliability. By harmonizing software agility with hardware constraints, the framework offers a scalable and efficient solution for SDV development, promising improved timelines and quality in safety-sensitive automotive systems.
