Analysis and optimization of stiffness damping characteristics on hydro-pneumatic suspension in mine dump truck
This study investigates the hydro-pneumatic suspension system of the XCMG(Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group) XDR80t mining dump truck, focusing on its ride comfort under complex road conditions. A mathematical model of the hydro-pneumatic suspension system was established, and fluid simulations were performed using Fluent to determine the theoretical flow coefficients for the damping holes and check valves within the system. The characteristics of the hydro-pneumatic suspension were simulated to analyze its stiffness and damping properties, and the effects of structural parameters on suspension performance were examined. A stochastic road surface model and a quarter-vehicle simulation model of the hydro-pneumatic suspension were developed. Comparison of simulated results with measured data on air chamber pressure and compression showed that the maximum error did not exceed 8.6%,validating the model′s reliability. Finally, genetic algorithms were employed to optimize the suspension structure under D-class road conditions, considering ride comfort in both heavy and light loading conditions. The results showed that the root mean square(RMS) value of the vehicle body acceleration decreased by 20.49% after optimization. Specifically, the RMS value of body vibration acceleration decreased by 21.18% under heavy loading conditions and by 16.39% under light loading conditions, thus improving the vehicle′s ride comfort.
