Dynamic Behavior Analysis of PMSM for Electric Vehicular Application
High-performance motors with acceptable cost, torque, and efficiency are essential for electric vehicles (EVs). Because of its capacity to achieve this state of harmony, Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSMs) are becoming more and more popular in this domain. The dynamic behavior of PMSM for electric vehicle applications is examined in this work. Understanding how the motor performs under different operating conditions-such as changing speeds and loads (current) during transient conditions, is the primary goal of the investigation. The Finite Element Analysis (FEA) method is taken into consideration to obtain precise results in order to comprehend the dynamic behavior of the suggested motor. A dynamic model of the PMSM is created based on the standard specifications for EV motors. Various dynamic performance measures, including torque-speed characteristics, torque ripple, air gap flux density, back emf, power factor, cogging torque, efficiency, etc., are examined through the use of FEA. The ultimate goal of this research is to increase the performance and range of EVs by helping to develop optimum motor designs and control algorithms. The impact of PM volume and placement on the torque-speed characteristics of the motor, the motor's dynamic reaction to abrupt changes in load, and the effect of control techniques on the motor's stability and efficiency during transient operation are some of the study's main conclusions. All things considered, this research advances the creation of high-performance electric motors for electric automobiles, thereby opening the door to a more efficient and sustainable transportation system in the future.
