HOW TO PROPERLY ORGANIZE FILE SYSTEM ACCESS IN DELPHI 10+: PRACTICAL RECOMMENDATIONS
This article explores the fundamental principles of organizing file system access in the Delphi version 10+ programming environment using the FAT32 file system as an example. Special attention is given to methods for retrieving disk structure information, including reading the boot sector, file allocation tables (FAT), and the root directory. Practical examples are provided for working with low-level access to logical disk data, particularly the ReadSectors() function. Common errors related to offset calculations and file object processing are analyzed, along with methods for resolving them. This article is intended for students and developers interested in working with file systems and low-level programming in Delphi.
