Dynamic Time–Energy Conservation in Variational Mechanics: A New Paradigm with Endogenous Time
We propose a novel extension of variational mechanics by introducing an endogenous scalar clock \( U \) with coupling \( W(U) \), leading to a dynamic time--energy conservation law. The total energy \( E_{\text{tot}} = W(U) \left( \tfrac{1}{2} m \dot q^2 + V_q(q) \right) + \tfrac{\kappa_U}{2} \dot U^2 + V_U(U) \) is conserved, with energy exchanging between the material system \( q \) and the clock field \( U \) via \( \tfrac{d E_m}{dt} = - W'(U) \dot U L \) and \( \tfrac{d E_U}{dt} = + W'(U) \dot U L \). In a covariant 4D formulation, \( \nabla_\mu (W T_m^{\mu\nu} + T_U^{\mu\nu}) = 0 \) ensures consistency. Numerical simulations and pipelines for LIGO data analysis suggest falsifiable signatures, including group delay shifts and energy leakage, challenging the standard paradigm of general relativity.
