ENHANCED PERIOPERATIVE PAIN CONTROL IN PEDIATRIC LAPAROSCOPIC ABDOMINAL SURGERY: A COMBINED PARACETAMOL AND IBUPROFEN APPROACH IN PREEMPTIVE MULTIMODAL ANALGESIA

The aim of this study was to enhance strategies for managing postoperative pain in pediatric patients undergoing laparoscopic procedures through the implementation of preemptive multimodal analgesia (MMA) based on a combination of paracetamol and ibuprofen. A prospective clinical study included 130 children aged 1 to 17 years, divided into two cohorts: the main group receiving MMA (n=100) and a comparison group receiving opioid-based analgesia (n=30). Efficacy and safety were evaluated based on pain intensity, frequency of adverse events, time to extubation, caregiver satisfaction, and pharmacoeconomic outcomes. The MMA cohort demonstrated a significant reduction in pain intensity, minimal adverse effects, faster recovery of respiratory function, and higher caregiver satisfaction. Additionally, the elimination of opioids contributed to cost-effectiveness. The findings confirm that the proposed approach is reliable, effective, and promising for widespread adoption in pediatric anesthesiology practice.
