Extracts This publication highlights proceedings of STOX about the achievements of STOX to date, including the distinguished service of our patron and past president, eminent scientist Prof. P.K. Gupta. During the IUTOX meeting held in Brussels, Belgium, in 1980, several international experts referred to him as the "Father of Modern Toxicology in India" and nominated him as the founding Director of the International Union of Toxicology (IUTOX). Prof. Gupta’s contributions have been highly acclaimed, particularly for advancing toxicology education in India. His journey led to the formation of the Society of Toxicology of India (STOX), its subsequent affiliation with the International Union of Toxicology, the initiation of Tox-Letter (1984-1994), the Indian Journal of Toxicology (1994-continue). Prof Gupta was requested to upgrade the Journal so that becomes a global publication. Prof Gupta showed his positive response.
