Cometary Phenomena and Solar Coupling: An Application of the Modified Laws to C/2025 R2 (SWAN) and 3I/ATLAS
This repository contains the LaTeX manuscript and figures for “Cometary Phenomena and Solar Coupling: An Application of the Modified Laws to C/2025 R2 (SWAN) and 3I/ATLAS.” The work translates two symbolic principles—Boundary Flux (timed step-changes at dynamical thresholds) and Directional Becoming (coherence vs. diffusion under active vs. quiet space weather)—into falsifiable tests using public observations. We align comet photometry, morphology, and spectroscopy with solar drivers (flares, CMEs, Kp/Ap indices), present retrodictions for July–September 2025 (Swift OH detections, JWST CO₂/H₂O ≈ 8:1, SWAN’s post-storm brightening after the 30 Sep G3 event), and define prospective markers for October–November 2025 with concrete pass/fail criteria and 24–48 h lags. All figures are generated directly in LaTeX (pgfplots) for portability. Data sources referenced include NOAA SWPC archives, GOES X-ray flux plots, space-weather advisories, community photometry (COBS/observer snapshots), and recent preprints (JWST, Swift, polarimetry). The package supports reproducible cross-checks and invites community validation of solar–comet coupling under a compact predictive framework.
