Supplementary Data and Code for Wingbeat Frequency Analysis of Aedes aegypti

Description This dataset contains experimental recordings and analysis code used to investigate wingbeat frequency (WBF) in Aedes aegypti mosquitoes under controlled laboratory and field-inspired conditions. The data support the manuscript Wing beat frequency in Ae. aegypti (Insecta, Diptera) kept under laboratory conditions: Implications for arbovirus transmission and vector control. The repository includes: VideoRecordings: Original and processed audio-visual files organized by experiment, group, and condition. Experiment 1: Containment system comparison (glass, 3D-printed box, acrylic cylinder, acrylic box). Experiment 2: Longitudinal recordings of males and females (daily variation). Experiment 3: Nutritional states (sugar-fed, blood-fed, starved). Experiment 4: Field vs. laboratory population comparisons (urban BO, semi-urban JA, Rockefeller strain). Supplementary Size Effect: Acoustic recordings from size-based containment tests. AnalysisCode: Jupyter notebooks and Python functions for signal processing, spectral analysis (STFT, peak detection), statistical testing (non-parametric tests, effect sizes), and figure generation. Outputs include CSV tables, LaTeX summaries, and plots. Figures and Results: Statistical tables and summary outputs in machine-readable and LaTeX-ready formats. This resource enables reproducibility of the analyses presented in the study and provides a structured dataset for further acoustic research on mosquito flight behavior. Keywords: Aedes aegypti, wingbeat frequency, acoustic analysis, mosquito behavior, experimental dataset, reproducible research
