"The Road is Our Hospital": A Community-Led Photovoice Study on Infrastructural Barriers to Health along the Ebolowa-Akom II Corridor, Cameroon
Twelve (12) community participants from eight villages along the corridor (Anyuzok, Mefo, Mvieng, Mfenda, Nkoloveng, Embevok, Biton, Aloum II) were recruited as co-researchers. Participants curated pre-existing photographs from their personal collections and mobile phones in response to two prompts: "What makes it difficult to get to a doctor?" and "What does 'being healthy' mean in your community?" The resulting photographs were analyzed during facilitated focus group discussions using the SHOWeD method. Transcriptions were analyzed using thematic analysis.
