D5.4 Report on Black Sea microbial biotech potential demonstrator
One of the specific objectives of the WP5 is to use rapid biodiversity assessments of high innovation potential (within Task 5.3 Smart observations for boosting innovation and Blue Growth). WP5 is included in Node 2 (Blue Growth Incubators) of the 3-Node project structure (Service Dynamics, Blue Growth Incubators, and Empowered Citizens). WP5 is strongly linked to Node 1 (Service Dynamics) providing state-of-the-art monitoring and process data on the key indicators and services. The outputs of Sub-task 5.3.2 “Microbial diversity-supporting biotechnology” will be used in WPs 6, 7 and 8 towards creating management options, policy options, and most importantly, business opportunities. Additionally, they will feed Task 1.2 of WP1 (BRIDGE-BS portal) by enhancing the Black Sea Database and Task 9.2 of WP9 (Training & Learning Exchange Programme) via the dedicated Webinar Exploring eDNA Methods in Marine Research and Summer School.
