The Interrelation of Pair and Trio Interactions and Their Application in Game Situations in the Training of Youth Soccer Players
This research paper examines the interrelation of pair and trio interactions in youth soccer, focusing on their tactical, technical, physical, and psycho-emotional implications. The study analyzes core interaction patterns such as the wall pass, overlap, third-man run, and overloads, linking them to attacking pathways (central, half-space, wide, and overload attacks). Practical applications are presented through the “Actions Between Players” exercise series, with case studies from youth teams (Pele U10, Beckenbauer U13, or Costa U12). The findings demonstrate that structured implementation of pair and trio exercises significantly improves the effectiveness of collective attacking play, decision-making, and game intelligence in young athletes. The paper concludes that pair and trio interactions should be systematically integrated into youth training programs as a foundation for long-term player development.
