MODERNIZATION AS A WAY TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF MODERN SOCIETY
There is still no consensus on what specific paths of social development are necessary to improve the living conditions of society. As some studies show, different cultures may have different ideas about how social development should occur, and that preferred trajectories of social development may differ across cultures [1, p. 731]. The purpose of this article is to explore modernization as one of the ways of development of modern society and to show what positive and negative consequences this process has. It should be noted that the theory of modernization does not lose its relevance, since today modernization is considered not only as a process of replacing a traditional society with a modern one, but above all as social changes in society through its holistic qualitative renewal [2, p. 83]. The value of this study lies in the application of the identification of positive and negative aspects of modernization for the development of key recommendations within the framework of the development of modernization processes in Kazakhstan. To reveal the phenomenon of modernization the following methods and principles were used: the principle of historicism, the principle of concreteness, comparative analysis, categories of essence and phenomenon, form and content. Keywords: modernization, social development, modern society, globalization, digital revolution
