Snapshot Chiral Spectro‐Polarimetric Imaging via a Microcavity‐Metalens‐Integrated Chip
Abstract Current computational spectral imaging methodologies predominantly rely on indirect acquisition of object's spectral information, with their reliability constrained by multiple interdependent factors including spectral data volume available, model architecture sophistication, and prerequisite deep learning implementations for specific application scenarios. Here, a snapshot chiral spectro‐polarimetric imaging system integrating stepwise Fabry–Pérot microcavities with chirality selected metalens arrays is presented. This configuration capitalizes on the intrinsic narrowband filtering characteristics of the stepwise Fabry–Pérot microcavities to enable direct acquisition of spectral image sequences through a single‐shot measurement. More importantly, the implementation of counter‐rotating chiral metalens pairs permits concurrent capture of orthogonally circularly polarized image components during the same imaging process. A three‐dimensionally integrated metasurface platform operating across eight discrete spectral channels in visible with chiral‐polarization resolution capability is developed. Experimental characterization demonstrates near‐diffraction‐limited spatial resolution (1.07× theoretical limit), a spectral acquisition range of up to 210 nm, as well as a polarization extinction ratio of 150. The system's spectral reconstruction capability is rigorously verified through the restored spectra of spectro‐polarimetric targets and the metamerism experiment. The proposed compact three‐dimensionally integrated metasurface holds broad application prospects in the fields of micro‐spectrometer, multi‐dimension biomicroscope, material analysis, and beyond.
