BLOCKCHAIN FOR MICRO-CREDENTIAL VERIFICATION IN HIGHER EDUCATION.
Micro-credentials, such as digital badges and nanodegrees, are increasingly crucial for validating specific skills and competencies in a flexible and modular fashion tailored to modern workforce demands. However, their verification faces significant challenges, including fraud, inefficiency, and lack of global portability. The study investigates how blockchain, as a decentralised, immutable digital ledger, can address these issues by enhancing the security, transparency, and efficiency of micro-credential verification. It conducts a comparative analysis of prominent blockchain platforms like Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric.
