By leveraging episodic narratives and enabling creators to expand their stories across diverse media formats—such as animation, merchandise, and fan-driven content—Webtoon has built an ecosystem that enhances audience engagement and monetization. The study explores how Webtoon’s approach empowers independent creators to transform their narratives into multifaceted franchises, driving entrepreneurial success and fostering new revenue streams. Additionally, it highlights Webtoon’s use of digital platforms and user interactions to co-create content, creating a dynamic feedback loop between creators and consumers. This paper argues that Webtoon’s transmedia storytelling framework serves as a scalable model for startups, offering valuable insights for entrepreneurs aiming to innovate their business models through narrative expansion.
