The Effect of Employee Relationship Management on Employee's Performance in Somali Regional State: The Case of Shinile Woreda

The main purpose of this study was to assess The Effect of Employee Relationship Management on Employee‘s Performance in Somali Regional State: The Case of Shinile Woreda. This study used both explanatory and descriptive research designs. The sampling methods were probability and non-probability sampling (323) respondents from Shinile Woreda. Primary (questionnaires) and secondary (literature) data sources were used in the study. Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 23 is used for data analysis, both descriptive and inferential statistics. Descriptive analyses based on mean rank indicate communication, conflict management, leadership style shared goal / value and team work are an important factor. Bivariate correlations were used to establish the relationship between the dependent variable (Employment performance) and the independent variables (communication, conflict management, leadership style, shared goal/value and teamwork), and multiple linear regression analysis was used to test for the five variables. The study's findings indicate a positive and statistically significant relationship between shared goal/value and Employment performance (r =0.829, p = 0.01 level), followed by conflict management at r = 0.788, p = 0.01 level. The linear regression model result show that share goal/value (β =-.734); leadership style (β =.284); communication (β=.060); conflict management (β =.059); Team work (β =.008) have positive and statistically significant effect. The study concludes that employee relationship management has significant positive effect on employee‘s performance in Shinile Woreda and further recommendations forwarded for management and stakeholders of the sector to strategically re-consider their practice of communication, conflict management, leadership style, shared goal/value and trust variables that predicted to determine the quality of employee relationship management and consequently affect the performance of employees in the sector
