Wearables for Health: Turning Physiological Signals into Clinical Insight

Presented at the Cambridge Wearables Innovation Forum (Pembroke College, Cambridge, UK) on 29th Sept 2025 Peter’s research focuses on using wearables to inform clinical decision-making. As a Biomedical Engineer, he explores what physiological information is contained in wearable signals, develops algorithms to extract it accurately, and investigates how it can support clinical care. He has developed methods to extract cardiovascular and respiratory parameters for use in both hospital wards and people’s homes. Before joining Nokia Bell Labs, Peter was a BHF Fellow at the University of Cambridge, running a clinical study on the acceptability and performance of wearables for atrial fibrillation screening. He shares his research openly, contributing data, algorithms, and freely available educational resources.
