Integrated Impact of Row Spacing, Fertilizer Application Methods and Sowing Dates on Sorghum Biomass and Grain Yield Traits

Sorghum crop is terrific food and fodder source. Human being must find new ways and sufficient climate change effects understanding that will give a hand to scientists for guiding growers. Keeping in view sorghum crop importance, field experiment carried out with randomized complete block design on net plot size 20 m2 included three replications. The study comprised of integrated impact of row spacing, fertilizer application methods and sowing dates to provide the improved technology to sorghum farmers. The results indicated highly significant effects at (P<0.05) on almost all plant traits. The maximum biomass yield (t ha-1) was obtained with 30 cm row-spacing under fertigation method of fertilizer application and sowing date of 17th May. The maximum grain yield (t ha-1) was gained at 30 cm row-spacing with broadcast and sowing date of 03rd May. It is concluded that sorghum genotype Bale II resulted highest biomass yield (t ha-1) recorded with 30 cm row-spacing, fertigation method and sowing date 17th May. However, maximum grain yield (t ha-1) obtained with 45 cm row-spacing, band method and sowing date 18th April. The study had significant influences on sorghum planting establishment to develop enhanced sorghum production to overcome food and fodder crisis.
