"America First" and the Markets That Don't Need America
President Donald Trump’s “America First” policy has unintentionally become a catalyst for other economies to strengthen their links and cooperation. New markets are being formed and expanded that see the US as just a temporary partner: not to be ignored but also not to be expected for the long term. The “ America First ” policy aims to bring manufacturing back to the US. Accordingly, the Donald Trump Administration has implemented a series of measures such as reducing domestic taxes to encourage businesses to produce locally, cutting spending on the administrative apparatus and social security programs. At the same time, it has reduced the budget for education and scientific research, and reduced international aid programs. On the contrary, it prioritizes a sharp increase in defense spending and border control activities.
