High-Throughput Microbial Bioremediation of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) Using a Genetically Tuned *Pseudomonas putida* Consortium in Continuous Flow Reactors

**Abstract:** Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) represent an emerging environmental threat due to their persistence and widespread contamination. Current remediation technologies are often energy intensive and/or lack sufficient efficiency. This research proposes the development and optimization of a high-throughput bioremediation system utilizing a genetically engineered *Pseudomonas putida* consortium within continuous flow reactors. The consortium, comprising strains exhibiting enhanced PFAS uptake, cometabolism, and defluorination pathways, offers a scalable and cost-effective solution for PFAS removal from contaminated water sources. We leverage advanced biofilm engineering, dynamic nutrient optimization, and automated monitoring and control to achieve significantly improved remediation efficiency compared to existing microbial degradation strategies. This system demonstrates a viable pathway for practical and widespread deployment in environmental remediation.
