28. 'பரபபரத தபபய கடமயரககம…'

In the 34rth verse of Purananuru, there is difference of reading in the third line among different texts. While the first word of the third line is, ‘Kuravar’ in many publications, it is ‘Parppar’ in the publication made by U. V. Swaminatha Ayyar. Some persons make allegation against U. V. Swaminatha Ayyar that he intentionally changed the word, ‘Kuravar’ into ‘Parppar’. This article examines whether this allegation is true and which reading is correct.
